Review: 'Departed' is fiercely entertaining

No filmmaker is more movie-savvy than Martin Scorsese and he in turn has influenced a whole generation of directors around the world. Now with "The Departed" -- based on the Hong Kong film "Infernal Affairs" -- he's done a nifty job Americanizing something that showed his influence in the first place. It features terrific performances and tough-minded filmmaking.
